MotifyMe joins the Motara network
A vehicle check site is one of the very few places online where somebody tells you exactly what they drive — in their own words, for their own reasons, without being asked to fill in a marketing form. That makes MotifyMe an unusually good fit for Motara, and we are pleased to say they are integrating the Motara SDK.
What MotifyMe does
MotifyMe is a UK vehicle data site. Put in a registration and it returns MOT history, tax status and DVLA details, free and without an account. Beyond the free check it offers valuations across trade, private and forecourt prices, Experian-backed history reports covering outstanding finance, write-offs and stolen markers, and FCA-regulated finance introductions.
There is also a marketplace — cars, vans and motorhomes from UK dealers and private sellers, filtered by make, model, body type, fuel, transmission, price and distance from a postcode. Dealer stock is finance-ready, so a buyer can apply through Presto Finance in minutes rather than finding a car and then starting a separate hunt for the money. Private-seller listings are cash sales.
And there is a genuinely useful pile of free tools around all of it — fuel cost and car tax calculators, a ULEZ checker, EV charger locator, clean air zone information and running cost estimates. It is the sort of site people bookmark rather than visit once.
Why it fits
Most advertising on the open web guesses at who you are. It infers from pages you have read, things you have bought, or a profile assembled by somebody you have never heard of. For the car market, that guessing is particularly poor: knowing somebody reads car content tells you almost nothing about whether the part on the advert will fit their car.
A vehicle check flips that round. The visitor has already volunteered the one fact that matters, because they needed it for themselves. An advert shown next to that result can be relevant on the only axis that counts — whether it is actually for their car.
The marketplace adds a second signal, and a different one. A check tells you what somebody drives; browsing finance-ready dealer stock tells you what they are about to drive instead. Those are two distinct moments with two distinct sets of things worth advertising, and very few sites can see both. Somebody shortlisting their next car is further from a parts purchase and much closer to everything that follows one.
No cookies, no profiles, no identity. The Motara SDK does not use cookies and does not collect names, email addresses, precise location, number plates or vehicle identification numbers. It records a make and model against a random device identifier, and what advertisers see is aggregate demand — counts and trends, never individuals.
What it means for suppliers
Every site running the SDK widens the picture. Motara aggregates what people drive across the whole network, so a supplier looking at demand for a part is looking at signal from many places at once rather than one app's users. MotifyMe brings a large audience of people actively researching a specific car, often at the exact moment they are deciding whether to buy it or what to do with it.
That is a moment with a lot of intent in it — and it is a moment we could not see before.
Worth reading
MotifyMe have written their own piece on vehicle-level targeting and why they think it beats cookie-based advertising for the car market. It is a clear explanation of the problem from the publisher's side: Advertising that knows what car they drive.
